Information for slaughter tree
Zoning by-law 1001-1008 – section 4, article 351 – Protection of trees and planting (City of Terrebonne) stipulates that it is prohibited to cut down a tree.
Except in certain situations
The tree represents a danger to people's safety;
The tree causes damage to a property;
The tree prevents construction authorized by the City;
The tree is a nuisance to the growth and well-being of neighboring trees;
The tree is an ash;
During authorized silvicultural activities and soil cultivation;
An expert demonstrates that the tree is dead, significantly damaged or suffering from an irreversible disease.
If felling a tree is unavoidable, it requires a permit.
