CONDITIONS PERMITTING SLAUGHTER

The City of Blainville allows the felling of trees on private land under certain conditions:

→ If the tree is dead;

→ If the tree is affected by an incurable disease;

→ If the tree is dangerous for the health or safety of citizens or cannot be secured;

→ If the tree harms the growth and well-being of a neighboring tree of greater value;

→ If the tree is located in a place where any construction is planned and this construction is associated with a building permit.

→ If the tree causes serious damage to private property or constitutes a nuisance.

The normal inconveniences linked to the presence of a tree do not constitute a nuisance, in particular the fall of twigs, leaves, flowers or fruits, the presence of roots on the surface of the ground, the presence of insects or animals, shade, bad odors, sap or honeydew exudate or the release of pollen.
